Apple’s 27-inch 5K iMac is a great computer, and it can be yours right now for just $1499.99 with Amazon currently offering it for its best price yet.

This particular configuration – 3.5GHz quad core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 1TB drive – would normally set you back anything up to $2000, making this a very reasonable saving of around $500. Those aren’t savings that you would normally associate with Apple products, but this is Amazon and anything goes.

You’ll also get that amazing 27-inch 5K monitor to go with those internals, as well as two Thunderbolt 3 ports for connectivity to accessories including external GPUs and some crazy storage options. The included 8GB of RAM is also relatively easily, and cheaply, upgraded. That’s certainly an option if you need more for your particular workflow.

The iMac is still a great computer for the vast majority of people, especially in this 27-inch 5K guise. The monitor that is built into this iMac is one of the best around, and unless you need the extreme grunt an iMac Pro offers, there’s definitely no need to go there.
