Kohler Announces Verdera Voice Smart Mirror With Alexa And Google Assistant Support

Ahead of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Kohler has announced a Google Assistant-powered smart mirror. Available to purchase right now, the new Verdera Voice smart mirror is one of a few products Kohler is announcing.

Consumers are now used to having voice-activated assistants built directly into portable speakers in the home but Kohler is one of the companies looking to extend that integration and has chosen to adopt this approach within a mirror.

In addition to functioning as an actual mirror, the new Verdera Voice mirror accepts voice commands to control home-based hardware compatible with Google Assistant and allows music to be played and voice-controlled through streaming devices.

The official announcement from Verdera predominantly focuses on the Assistant functionality within the mirror:

At CES, Kohler is announcing the next iteration of the Verdera Voice the Google Assistant built-in. Both the Verdera Voice with Amazon Alexa and Verdera Voice powered by the Google Assistant are first-to-market models, providing seamless integration of voice control into the bathroom space. The Verdera Voice is a thoughtfully designed and functional centerpiece of the smart bathroom featuring a high-quality grooming mirror, efficient adjustable LED lights for precision routines like makeup application and skin care, a motion-activated wayfinding nightlight, and hermetically sealed speakers that maximize stereo sound quality – all built-in to help reduce clutter and optimize user experiences.

Note that the company also confirms that the . Verdera Voice comes with “hermetically sealed speakers” designed to provide the best possible stereo sound quality. Well, the very best that you could expect from a mirror. Anyone with experience of Kohler hardware will likely expect this but the Verdera isn’t exactly going to be an off-the-shelf cheap purchase.

Prices will start at just over $1,600.00 with the Voice being available in multiple different sizes. As gorgeous as elegant as this may look in the home we can’t help but think it’s a lot of money to spend on a mirror that may look good but differs from competitors purely in the sense that it comes with voice control.

The Verdera Voice is available to purchase right now but no doubt we will hear more about it at next week’s CES main show.
