Jailbreak iOS 17.2 On iPhone Or iPad Status [Latest Update]

If you are looking to jailbreak iOS 17.2 on your iPhone or jailbreak iPadOS 17.2 on your iPad, here’s the latest status update and all the jailbreaking information you need to know.

Apple has now released iOS 17.2 to the public after going through weeks of beta testing and you can download it for yourself right now.

The update adds support for the new Journal app and more, and the company has added more beyond that as well. But as many people are no doubt asking once more, can iOS 17.2 be jailbroken? If that’s a consideration for you, you might want to read on.

Unfortunately, the news isn’t good. Whereas those using an iPhone X or iPhone 8 (or older) can continue to jailbreak just fine thanks to the bootrom-based jailbreaks, iOS 17.2 isn’t supported on those devices.

Unfortunately, all of the iPhones that do support iOS 17.2 are protected against those bootrom-based jailbreaks and as such can’t be jailbroken. That might change in the future, but at the moment there is little sign that it will happen soon.

This all means that we’d suggest installing iOS 17.2 now rather than wait to see if it can be jailbroken because, frankly, that’s unlikely to happen. And with new features, fixes, and security improvements abound it’s always worth having the latest version of iOS installed.
