iOS 12.4 Beta Jailbroken, Cydia Up And Running

A jailbreak for iOS 12.4 beta complete with Cydia has been achieved on iPhone. Here are the details on it.

PsychoTea – who is relatively well-known to the jailbreak community – has seemingly become the first individual to successfully jailbreak iOS 12.4 beta and show Cydia running on the platform. The hacker and developer announced this achievement over Twitter.

iOS 12.4 has been available as a beta for only a short while, all while Apple preps up to launch iOS 13 when the time arrives.

The Cupertino-based company isn’t exactly going to be over the moon to see that someone has managed to exploit and liberate iOS 12.4 considering that the vulnerability found in iOS 12.4 could exist in iOS 13 as well.

However, given that a final public release of iOS 13 won’t make it into the public domain until September at the earliest, there is still plenty of time for Apple to find and close the vulnerabilities which made jailbreaking iOS 12.4 possible.

Like the iOS versions that preceded before it, iOS 12.4 was not exactly going to be bullet-proof either, but that’s good news for those who love nothing more than to be able to jailbreak their device and customize it as they see fit.

That said, the timing of this jailbreak tease is being questioned by some fans, wondering if this would give Apple the ability to patch a similar exploit in iOS 13 when it arrives as a public beta in July – well that is if it exists. We will have to wait and see through the next few months to see how that pans out.

For now, that’s another jailbreak progress, so let’s just enjoy that but keep our fingers crossed for the future.
