iOS 13 Public Beta Will Now Arrive This Month, Says Apple

iOS 13 public beta profile download release date now said to arrive this month. Here are the details on this.

Apple released iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 2 to developers yesterday with the developer portal again noting that users should wait until the public beta unless absolutely necessary. That public beta is listed as coming next month, but as noted by one of our reader, the actual release notes say that it will arrive this month.

Apple took the unusual step with this round of betas to suggest “thrill seekers” should hang fire before updating. That message has been present on the downloads page of Apple’s developer portal since the first beta arrived, suggesting that the public beta will arrive next month. However, as we mentioned earlier, that’s not what the iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 2 release notes say.

Important Note for Thrill Seekers: If you’re interested in living on the edge and trying out the great new features in iOS & iPadOS 13, we strongly advise waiting for the many bug fixes and refinements coming to the public beta later this month.

If that is indeed true then we will be seeing the fabled public beta sooner than anticipated, although potentially only by a few days. It’s also possible that this is simply a typo and the timeframe of “next month” is still more accurate.

Either way, with beta 2 now having been in the wild for more than a day it’s clear that initial feedback is very positive indeed. Users have reported that many issues with beta 1 of both iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 have been fixed, and we know that many new features and changes have been made since that release, too.

With that in mind it’s possible things are progressing better than expected, pulling that public beta forward a little. We’ll know soon enough.
