How To Check If Your Apple MagSafe Charger Is Fake Or Not

Apple’s MagSafe charger is pretty cool and it’s a great way to wirelessly charge your iPhone and AirPods.

Unfortunately, it isn’t an inexpensive purchase and that means that there is a growing risk that you’ll buy a fake product. Especially if the price seems too good to be true.

But what if you already have what is claimed to be an Apple MagSafe charger? Thankfully there’s an easy way to check that you have something genuine. Here’s how you can go about doing exactly that.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your MagSafe charger and make sure that it’s charging.

Step 2: Open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to General > About.

Step 3: Scroll down until you see Apple MagSafe Charger and tap it.

Step 4: Note the Manufacturer name and other details to ensure this is an Apple product.

If no Apple MagSafe Charger menu appears then there’s a chance your charger is fake. However, it’s worth remembering that some legitimate MagSafe-like products don’t trigger this message because they aren’t made by Apple. We’d suggest only getting in touch with the seller if they claimed that you were buying an Apple MagSafe product at the time of purchase.
