Fortnite 5.21 Patch Notes Detail What’s New As Updated Version Rolls Out Across Various Platforms

Great news Fortnite fans! As part of an effort to keep Fortnite at the top of the charts, Epic Games has released a new update for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and mobile. Version 5.21 is rolling out now across all platforms and offers a wide variety of changes and improvements.

As far as the Battle Royale aspect of Fortnite is concerned, Epic Games has introduced a new Soaring 50’s limited time mode. This new mode looks to try and offer a new twist of the 50 vs 50 mode and brings a huge emphasis on mobility.

Gliders can be redeployed when falling from big heights, additional Impulse Grenades are available, and Launch Pads will be spawned in random locations throughout the map. A simple tap of the jump button when in mid-air above 10m will redeploy the glider.

There is also a brand new Sniper Shootout mode where plays will do battles purely with rifles with the main emphasis of the mode on those Fortnite gamers have the best aim with this type of weapon. Epic has also added a brand new Heavy Sniper weapon available in Epic and Legendary variants and which can be found and picked up in various locations.

The new weapon takes a long time to reload so isn’t great for hectic situations of close combat but the trade-off is that it brings devastating damage when it connects. Epic has also taken the opportunity to reduce the Minigun headshot multiplier from 2.5 to 1.5.

For those who prefer the Save the World part of Fortnite, there are a new set of weekly Horde challenges and a brand new hero called Thora joining the equation. Thora will be able to be purchased via the Event Store from August 15th at 8 PM Eastern Time.

From a bug fix and improvement perspective, version 5.21 across all platforms offers fixes for modifier issues on certain Horde missions as well as a visual fix put in place to resolve an issue that would cause a Rocket Launcher to take up most of the screen. Atlas activation has also been fixed in multi-gate Fight the Storm missions. If you are a Fortnite gamer, across any platform, rest assured that version 5.21 is rolling out right now.
