FCC Leak Suggests Apple’s 2019 16-Inch MacBook Pro Could Be Coming Soon

One of the best ways to get a glimpse of upcoming products is to keep an eye on FCC approvals and that’s exactly what has happened here. Following its brief appearance on the FCC website a new, unannounced MacBook Pro appears to have been outed.

The FCC entry relates to a model number A2159. That isn’t a model that is currently available although it is a number that previously appeared in a similar registration with the Eurasian Economic Commission, too.

That would suggest that there is indeed an unannounced computer on its way. Especially considering the entry specifically calls the device a MacBook Pro.

As people on Reddit and elsewhere have noted, the entry shows the new MacBook Pro as being rated at 20.3V – 3A Max, which makes it rated for 61w. If that’s accurate then it’s more likely that this is a 13-inch MacBook Pro rather than the more power hungry 15-inch model.

Given the fact that most of the MacBook Pro line received a refresh recently it’s likely that this is the one model that didn’t get some love – the 13-inch MacBook Pro sans Touch Bar.

There is however a small chance that this is the heavily rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro. We find that unlikely given the power ratings at play but the possibility is still there.

Devices that appear in FFC filings normally launch soon after, so it’s possible we’ll know exactly what this device is soon. However, the filing has now been removed so it’s also possible that things are a little while off, too.
