The biggest feature of Facebook 6.0 for iOS was without a doubt, Chat Heads. But the problem was, Chat Heads were strictly limited to be used inside the app itself and were a no-go on the home screen, until now.
As if we've been short of future-gen iPhone concept ideas of late, German designer Eric Huismann has once again explored the idea of a transparent display in his 'iPhone 6' design. The very slick looking device is 17% thinner than the already svelte iPhone 5, packs a 10-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, and an upgraded A7 processor. We love a good concept idea here at Redmond Pie, and with all this incessant talk of an "iPhone 5S" hitting the scene at some point in the near future, the designers have been out in force putting forth their own takes on what kind of form factor the device may eventually employ. But while many are getting understandably carried away with the supposedly imminent seventh-gen handset, the guys over at Aatma Studio have been busy creating an iPhone concept of a different kind.
The iPhone 4 is considered by many as the biggest leap in the advancement since the Apple smartphone's inception back in 2007. A completely overhauled, high-end design was accentuated further by the introduction of the Retina display, and belatedly perhaps, the camera was given an uber-bright LED flash. A complete win. Typically of Apple, the flash feature felt slightly unfinished, since while some apps allow the LED to operate in torch mode prior to the taking of a snap, Apple's native Camera app does not offer this facility. Luckily, there's a tweak for that, and it goes by the name of PhotoTorch.
There is no doubt about the fact that battery is one of the most important aspects of any mobile device. A device can be the most beautiful, elegant creation in the world and contain some of the most advanced features that we have seen in the mobile game, but if the battery doesn't last five minutes then the whole design process has been in vein. Apple's iOS devices do a fairly good job of keeping the user informed of the current battery level through a tidy little icon and optional percentage indication, but for those jailbroken users who want to make a little aesthetic tweak then the Live Battery Indicator package could be the solution.
As well as offering an abundance of eternally useful tweaks which enhance functionality and general usability of an iOS device, the Cydia Store is also full of apps, tweaks and themes aimed at changing the way things look and behave. More often than not, these kinds of mods serve little purpose other than to make things appear a tidbit nicer, but since there's nothing wrong with the odd aesthetic touch-up, many jailbreakers seek to explore these avenues. If you're the kind of individual that likes to tinker about with themes and such, you may wish to try JellyLock, a highly customizable tweak which borrows much from the look of Android Jelly Bean's exterior interface.
One of the most incessantly annoying features of iOS's functionality is the fact that whenever you open up an App Store link in your browser, in the Notes app, or within any other app for that matter, it automatically jumps away from what you're doing, and takes you straight to the page of the game or app in App Store app. This rather irritating trait is also manifested on OS X, with iTunes popping up by default when you're just looking to check out an app's reputation in your browser. Luckily, jailbreaks mean the pet peeves of most users can be nullified, and with a nifty little tweak by the name of QuickStore, clicked App Store links will appear in a versatile pop-up window as opposed to dragging you away from your app-in-hand.

We already know that Cydia and the official repositories are full of fantastic, powerful and innovative packages that make interacting with our iOS devices a lot more pleasurable. We also understand that developers and designers are always working hard behind the scenes to improve their existing packages or come up with new offerings that provide some needed functionality to the loyal jailbreak user base. It seems that Joshua Tucker and Andrew Richardson have been doing exactly that and are all set to release their new notification and scheduling centric tweak that will be known as Abstergo, which will land on Cydia on April 21st.
As if rumors of what the next iPhone will and will not feature were not already reaching silly proportions, the latest news on the street is that Apple's next flagship smartphone will feature a shiny new 12-megapixel camera and improved night time shooting.
