We should all know by now that the large Retina display of the iPad lends itself perfectly to drawing apps, a multitude of which already exist on the App Store. The Zen Brush app offers similar functionality to a number of other drawing apps that are already available but bundled with the unique concentration on allowing users to paint, write and draw with a beautiful and realistic ink brush rather than a never ending set of pens and pencils.
Fans of the addictive and wildly popular Borderlands console game can sit back and rejoice as 2K games have officially announced the immediate availability of the franchise on the iOS platform. Borderlands Legends is a new and innovative mobile gaming experience that comes under the Gearbox Software license and is being distributed for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad via two dedicated apps on the App Store.
Electronic Arts is one of the most prolific game publishing companies to ever have done it. Having excelled in bringing some of our most famed sports titles to our consoles, EA has continued to shine on mobile. Not only are the new releases frequent, but the quality is very high, and having already released quite a few Need for Speed titles hitherto, the company has just pushed Need For Speed: Most Wanted through to Apple's App Store and Google Play.
If you find yourself snapping images on your smartphone on a regular basis, you're probably always on the hunt for ways to enhance the experience. While there are a million and one apps out there for adding effects, cropping, highlighting, and generally manipulating images, a relatively new app in the form of WiFi Camera for iOS offers a feature we've yet to see from any other application.

One of the great things about the third-gen iPad is the fact that apps, images and artistic type features look stunning on the high-resolution display. The Concepts app from TopHatch is a great example of an artistic based app that makes perfect use of every pixel on the iPad, allowing users to mockup unique and stunning creations directly on the device.
Anyone who happens to own a Mac will more than likely be familiar with The Unarchiver application that seems to be the de facto standard for uncompressing zip and other archived files. Other apps obviously exist but The Unarchiver seems to be able to handle any type of file that is thrown at it with minimal fuss. The Archives iOS application for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has been created based on that OS X application and offers the same functionality, power and handling capabilities of its Mac based sibling.
The App Store is currently awash with productivity and to-do list apps that attempt to inject a little bit of organization into our hectic lives. Although pretty much built with the same goal in mind - to increase productivity - they all go about accomplishing the task in their own unique way. The Teed app has recently been updated to the all important version 2.0 and offers powerful to-do list management features in a simple interface that breeds familiarity due to its use of standard iOS controls.
Although iOS 6 has generally been classed as a triumph and definitely represents evolution of the software, there are still some users who feel that Apple has regressed with certain aspects of the firmware. Long time iOS device owners are used to firing up the Maps app and getting information fed back from the trusted Google Maps service, something that is non-existent in a stock installation of iOS 6 thanks to the inclusion of Apple's own vector-based mapping app. Some people just don't like change, and if you happen to be one of those people then the ClassicMap app on the App Store might be what you need.
