Apple Granted The Right To Ban Motorola Handsets Over Slide To Unlock Feature

Paul Morris·February 17, 2012
The Apple iPhone is no doubt a beautiful example how an almost-perfect design can help make a product great. The first iPhone in 2007 was a triumph for Sir Jonathan Ives and his team, but perhaps one of those most memorable and iconic parts of the iPhone is the slide to unlock feature on the lock screen which has been made famous by Apple. Before the iPhone was released, mobile phones generally featured some kind of two button combo to lock/unlock the device, but Apple managed to change that, and have since featured the same swipe gesture in their iPod touch device as well as the iPad.

Worried About Your Apps Accessing Your Contacts Data? An iOS Update Is In The Works To Fix That

Ben Reid·February 16, 2012
If there's anything that truly antagonizes consumers, it's breaches of privacy, resulting in data being accessed without due consent. In iOS, if a third-party app requires permission to access your location data with the intention of enhancing user experience, you're met with a popup window, and have the option to allow access, or simply block the app from knowing of your whereabouts.

The Forgotten iPod touch And Why It’s So Important

Oliver Haslam·February 15, 2012
When Apple first launched the iPhone back in 2007, the world marveled at its all-new touch-based interface and the way the stylus had been consigned to the history books. Even before the App Store came along in a year later, the fledgling jailbreak community showed just what was possible with what amounted to a small computer that nestled happily in your pocket.

Paul Morris·February 14, 2012
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, get that Home button on your iPhone 4S pressed down and give Siri the order to clear your diary for Wednesday March 7th, as previously reliable sources seem to think that it is the day when Apple intends to hold a keynote event and announce the much anticipated iPad 3. If the sources are correct, then that will put it pretty much exactly a year since the current iPad 2 model was announced.

Apple’s Stunning 2012 Product Lineup [Concept Video]

Paul Morris·February 13, 2012
I think I speak for the majority of consumer electronics fans when I say that we would all love the chance to have the financial backing of a company like Apple to be able to dream up our own product line of innovative, beautiful and outrageously expensive products. Imagine your own home full of gadgets that you have imagined, invented and then had Apple bring them to life for the world to lust over. Unfortunately, unless you are a product designing genius who gets snapped up and produces the next big thing, the chances are that dream is more than likely unreachable but designer Antonio De Rosa has produced a line of dream gadgets for Apple’s 2012 lineup.

Android’s Number 1 Rated Siri-like Personal Assistant App, Speaktoit Assistant, Now Available For iPhone

Paul Morris·February 12, 2012
The world is going Siri crazy. Well, maybe not the whole world, but it seems that Apple's personal assistant software has caused a storm with the iPhone 4S flying off shelves, television commercials popping up all over the place, the Cydia store being infiltrated by Siri based enhancements and even developers pushing out Siri clones onto other mobile operating systems. In the last few weeks alone we have seen the introduction of the 'Evi' iPhone application, as well as 'Sara' making her way onto the Cydia store.
