The introduction of the Retina-ready MacBook Pro was a fantastic achievement for Apple and represented a huge step forward for the Mac line of computers as Apple continue to develop both the hardware and software of their increasingly popular notebooks. The company is rightly proud of what they have achieved with the initial release of the MacBook Pro with Retina display, and pride themselves on being the first to market a notebook that features a display with 5.1 million pixels and a monstrous 2880 x 1800 screen resolution.
It's been nearly three weeks since Apple deemed their latest version of OS X to be ready for a prime time release on the Mac App Store, a decision that resulted in over three million Mac owners purchasing and downloading the cutting-edge operating system within the first twenty-four hours. The early indications seem to show that users were generally happy with what Mountain Lion brought to their Mac experience, but a few users have been reporting a detrimental effect on internal MacBook batteries.
We are fast approaching the business end of Apple's sixth-generation iPhone release schedule, and if sources and intuition proves to be serving us correctly, then we should be getting our first official glimpse of the new piece of Apple hardware on September 12th. Apple is yet to officially come out and confirm that the event is happening, but a number of indicators seem to have given the game away with the extremely familiar Moscone Center in San Francisco looking likely to be the chosen venue.
So far, we’ve seen leaks of just about every major component of the next and sixth generation iPhone. We’ve seen its home button, slightly larger front with a 4” display, a metal back, and an all-new MagSafe-like dock connector to name a few things.
There has been a lot of talk recently about the specifications of the new iPhone that is expected to be announced during a media event next month. Although we haven’t had any official confirmation from Apple as of yet, those who appear to be in the know are staying true to the September 12th announcement date. We are obviously all keen to officially feast our eyes on the sixth-generation device, but the most talked about and contested amendment to the device has to be the inclusion of a taller display.
With the release of the next-generation iPhone just around the corner, we could be forgiven for thinking we already have a pretty accurate idea of what Apple is going to introduce to the world next month. Over the last few months, we have been treated to regular viewings of leaked images of individual components, as well as a few documents that claim to show the new iPhone assembled in all of its beautiful glory. Of course, the fully assembled images could all be part of an elaborate ruse to throw us off the scent, or may even just be a shell prototype that is distributed to official equipment manufacturers to design and build their wares, but they have succeeded in making us anticipate the release.
When Tim Cook and his cohorts took to the stage to introduce us to the next-generation of iOS, we were pretty much expecting most of the announcements which were rumored beforehand. However, as the demonstration of iOS 6 continued, there was a couple of little additions that took us by surprise and had managed to slip through the rumor net which led up to the event. One of those surprises came in the form of Passbook, a new iOS stock app which offers a new and efficient way for users to store tickets, coupons, gift cards and vouchers in one central place for easy access later on.
Anyone who is remotely interested in the release of next-generation Apple hardware must have been paying particular attention to all of the leaked images and reports that have been circulating around the world wide web for the last couple of months. Various sources have thrown up a plethora of photographs which show varying parts, that are speculated to be part of the sixth-generation iPhone, and will more than likely be introduced to us next month.
OS X Mountain Lion has been with us for long enough, and users can form their own opinions on Apple's latest cutting edge operating system and certainly decide themselves if they feel it is an improvement over OS X Lion, or even the latest version of Snow Leopard if they refrained from upgrading to Lion. Judging by the fact that Mountain Lion notched up over three million downloads in twenty four hours and the Mac App Store is littered with positive reviews, it would seem that the majority have greeted OS X 10.8 with positivity.
