The guy who previously unlocked iOS 4.0 Beta 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4), PwnageTool bundles for iPhone 3GS on iOS 4 and Blacksn0w RC2 patch for iPhone 3.1.3 is now back with a new patch, which makes Blacksn0w unlock compatible with iOS 4.0, provided that you have preserved your baseband to 05.11.07 using PwnageTool.

Yes you read that right ! AppSync for iOS 4.0 (formerly iPhone OS 4) is now available for all those of you who have managed to jailbreak your iPhones and iPod touches. For those of you who don't know, AppSync patches MobileInstallation file on iOS which is needed in order to install .ipa files manually without using iTunes.
Redsn0w jailbreak tool has been updated to version 0.9.5b5 which brings full support for iPod touch 2G, along with optional support to enable multitasking and wallpapers on iOS 4.0 (formerly iPhone OS 4) on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G which otherwise are disabled by Apple.

The million dollar question, how long before the new iPhone 4 is going to be jailbroken and unlocked? Well we already know that the iPhone Dev Team has already announced that they are going to release an unlock which will work on the 05.12.01 baseband on all iPhones, provided they haven't upgraded to the latest 05.13 baseband. But since the new iPhone 4 will have the latest baseband, it will be a while before it gets fully jailbroken and unlocked. Another infamous iPhone hacker by the name of Geohot is also said to have a new bootrom exploit, which he has preserved for this new iPhone.
