Firefox may not be your browser of choice, but considering it has been placed onto a fairly frequent update schedule and is benefitting from a number of impressive changes and feature additions, then it could be worth checking out for those who are growing tired of using the likes of Google Chrome, Safari or dare I say it… Internet Explorer. Being able to stay in touch socially with through the likes of Twitter and Facebook is always important to a lot of people, so it may come as a surprise to some to learn that Firefox 17 brought with it a hidden feature that extends into Facebook.

There have been plenty of companies in existence over the years that have managed to invent and produce extremely powerful and useful products which have now fallen wayside and into obscurity. It doesn't just happen in the technology industry, and it goes to prove that having a good idea or the knowledge to invent a product doesn't always guarantee commercial success out in the real world, which is one of the reasons why marketing and advertising is so vitally important to companies. Apple has consistently managed to get this aspect of their business right in recent years, and now, it's possible to view every one of their television adverts in a purposely created YouTube playlist.
A large number of Android users have been plagued by a rather annoying bug in Android 4.2 that caused the month of December to go missing from the native date picker in certain apps. Thankfully, it looks like Google has stepped up just in time to save the day with an update to Jelly Bean, taking it up to version 4.2.1.
It seems like an eternity ago when Apple took to the stage to introduce us to the iPad mini as well as a number of other products including the new revamped range of iMacs. After seeing Apple introduce the iPad mini, the fourth-generation iPad and a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, it was music to the ears of desktop lovers when the restyled 21.5 and 27-inch iMac models were introduced, featuring a new slim design as well as a number of hugely important and impressive internal specification changes. Apple has now officially announced that the 21.5-inch variant of the new iMac will be available to purchase this coming Friday.
Anyone who has ever played Grand Theft Auto will know that the game is packed to the rafters with a plethora of meticulously crafted vehicles, adrenaline fuelled missions and large-scale environments that are filled with surprises and insane amounts of peril. However, putting all of that aside, any frequent GTA gamer will have also spent a ridiculous amount of time driving around the city flicking through the multiple radio stations that are offered with each version of the game. If you don't own the game, or want to experience the musical goodness of one of the world's most popular gaming franchises, then the GTA Radio app for Android is something you need to own.
Apple has just seeded the first beta build of OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion to developers. As is always the case with beta software from Apple, the initial build is only available to those who are enrolled on the official OS X developer program and can be downloaded directly from the Mac Dev Center immediately.
The Black Friday shopping extravaganza has been and gone, and while a number of high profile retailers were offering significant price savings across a wide range of products it was ultimately the consumer electronics industry that consumers were looking to for those Thanksgiving bargains. Microsoft and Apple are two companies that find themselves sitting at the top of that particular food chain, and while we have already seen reports showing that certain Apple Stores saw a lot more customers than their Microsoft counterparts in the same area, we are now seeing some statistics to back up that claim.
Those who regularly keep abreast of what is going on in the smartphone industry will be more than aware that Samsung and Apple are constantly battling it out for sales supremacy, with Samsung managing to come out on top thanks to their array of extremely popular Android powered devices. Samsung have relied on their Galaxy S II and S III smartphones to bring in the big sales numbers, but it was only the start of this month that they announced the Galaxy Note II had been received extremely well with three million units sold. Less than four weeks later, the statistics are back with Samsung announcing that an additional two million second-generation Notes have flown off the shelves in November.
The stock Weather app has been a staple part of iOS from the beginning, and since iOS 5, we have seen the company introduce a GPS based weather widget that lives within Notification Center and provides constantly updated weather information based on the location of the device at any given time. Of course, not everyone likes the stock implementation, and when looking for weather widgets that step away from the iOS norm then the MIUI Weather iWidgets could be the right place to go hunting.
With the likes of Apple and Samsung dominating the smartphone industry in the last few years, there has been a lot of attention lavished on Nokia over the last couple of weeks as we wait patiently to see if their flagship Lumia 920 device can make any kind of substantial impact in the mobile space. Early indications suggest that the Windows Phone 8 powered device has been received extremely well by consumers but could this be due to the physical design of the device or could the embedded software be a major part of the appeal? Nokia's lead designer Marko Ahtissari has taken a few minutes to share his thoughts on the product and what he calls a "really beautiful balance between the digital and the physical".
