How To Play iOS 7 MFi Controller Games Using PS3 DualShock 3 Controller [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·January 20, 2014
It's pretty much common knowledge by now that Apple integrated native game controller support with the launch of iOS 7 last year. The officially introduced APIs in the iOS 7 SDK make it relatively easy for game developers to allow their offerings to be interacted with via a hardware controller that conforms to Apple's blueprints. However, the initial wave of controllers have proven to be quite expensive, prohibitively so in some cases, meaning that not a lot of users are taking the plunge and parting with upwards of $99 to play a $0.99 game. Thankfully the jailbreak community has come to the rescue once again with the release of Controllers for All, a tweak that allows PlayStation 3 DualShock 3 controllers to be used in conjunction with these MFi Game Controller iOS 7 games.

BioUnlock For iPhone 5s Lets You Unlock Mac Using Touch ID [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·January 17, 2014
There's been a ton of innovative and exciting mobile and desktop apps and tools that have managed to attract a lot of initial attention before falling into obscurity. Remember Knock? The app that allows you to unlock your Mac without inputting a password? Sure, it still has a fair amount of satisfied users, but the hype around it seems to have quickly dissipated into nothing. The same affliction doesn't seem to be applied in equal measures to tweaks that are released into the jailbreak world, with hype already starting to build for BioUnlock, a tweak that hooks into the iPhone 5s Touch ID sensor to essentially offer the same functionality as Knock.

HP Announces 6 And 7 Inch Android Phatblets, Wants To Jump Onto The Smartphone Bandwagon Again

Paul Morris·January 15, 2014
Hewlett Packard famously exited the smartphone and tablet industry back in 2011 when they made the business decision to retire webOS. After concentrating its collective efforts on a number of different industries, HP will today announce its plans to re-enter the mobile space by introducing two "phablets" that will initially be introduced into the Indian marketplace. The 6 and 7-inch VoiceTab devices are billed as tablets, but will come enabled with voice features that will bring calling capabilities to the hardware.

Graphics Comparison: Tomb Raider Definitive Edition On PS4 Vs PS3 [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·January 15, 2014
Square Enix's Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is all set to launch on January 28th for the PlayStation 4, and considering it's among the first of the major titles to hit the next-generation platform it's likely to generate a great deal of attention. In an attempt to show off the staggering differences between the PS4 and PS3, gaming site IGN has taken the opportunity to produce a side-by-side gameplay video that highlights just how far Lara Croft has come in her quest to make it onto Sony's powerful PlayStation 4 platform.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Phablet And Xperia E1 Smartphone Announced: Here Are The Details

Paul Morris·January 14, 2014
Following on from its introduction of the Xperia Z1S and Xperia Z1 Compact smartphones at CES, Sony has introduced two additional devices to compliment the Xperia range. The Xperia T2 Ultra and the Xperia E1 are built with relatively modest specifications and look like they will be aimed at the lower entry level smartphone market rather than those looking for a powerhouse device to compete with the best of Android.

WinZip 3.0 for iOS Released, Features iOS 7 Redesign, AirDrop Support And More

Paul Morris·January 13, 2014
One of the iOS App Store's most powerful method of unarchiving ZIP files has just been put through a significant update. WinZip for iOS, released by WinZip Computing LLC, has long been thought of as the de-facto options for users wanting to interact with archived files directly on their iOS device. Although the universal app has benefited from relatively minor upgrades during the course of 2013, the push to version 3.0.0 sees a total app overhaul to fall in line with the new iOS 7 guidelines as well as supporting a number of iOS 7 only technologies.

How To Take Screenshot On iPhone / iPad Remotely From A Mac

Paul Morris·January 10, 2014
The ability capture screenshots from an iOS device is extremely handy, and in most situations does a perfectly good job for the use case of the masses. With that said, if you're a developer, designer, app reviewer or just someone who derives excitement from capturing screenshots, then it can become a little tiresome having to capture screenshots on a device and then export to a computer or laptop for processing. Thankfully for us, the new iOS Capture app for Mac OS X users aims to resolve this issue by letting us remotely capture screenshots directly from our iOS device without even touching it. Technical genius or black magic? You decide.

Paul Morris·January 10, 2014
If mobile gaming is your thing, but aren’t into farming on your mobile device then Spawn Studios has the perfect solution. The original all-action hero is back on the small screen, this time making an appearance in Duke Nukem: The Manhattan project, a title that was originally released for the Windows platform more than a decade ago. This isn't the first time that we've seen the Mighty Boot grace Apple's iOS platform with his no-nonsense presence, but it is the first time that everyone's favorite fictional hero has brought his chaos to The Big Apple on the platform.
