Nokia, once the market leader in the mobile industry, placed its faith heavily in the Windows Phone ecosystem - a decision that, at the moment, doesn't appear to have paid dividends. The Finnish company has long since created decent smartphones, but with WP struggling, the likes of Apple, Samsung and HTC have continued to dominate. Microsoft's purchase of Nokia's products and services dept. back in September seemed to indicate that Nokia and WP would continue to collaborate as an exclusive unit, however the much-rumored Nokia Android smartphone has just been leaked from a reputable source.

It's always, without any exception, nice to get things for free, and even though App Store apps are widely considered cheap (except for when the developer decides to overkill the freemium model), those promotions dropping prices to little or nothing are always worth jumping on. Even if you can't envisage yourself downloading a certain app that has gone free, there's not much harm in downloading it and simply having it there on your account, and a new Sephora deal means you can obtain the likes of Day One, djay 2 and Silk from the App Store for free. Details on how you can cash in - or not, as the case may be - can be found after the fold! A Beautiful Mess and more that are available for free.
Apple released iOS 7.1 beta 3 earlier today. For those of you asking about jailbreak, it has now been confirmed by iH8sn0w that this latest seed by Apple doesnt patch the exploits used in Evasi0n7 jailbreak.
We're currently well into the opening lap of the renewed console battle between Sony and Microsoft, and with the latter having stepped out and claimed a haul of 3 million Xbox One units pushed before the turn of the new year, its Japanese adversary has well and truly trumped it with the revelation that 4.2 million units were sold as of December 28th.

Google Glass may have been one of tech's main talking points over the past 18 months or so, but it is by no means alone in its quest to introduce face computers to the fore. In fact, one of its main competitors, GlassUp, is busily showcasing its first prototype at CES this week, and although it doesn't have the kind of resources of the Mountain View-based search giant, its efforts are certainly impressive nonetheless.
Widgets are wonderful things, but if you're on an iOS device, they're few and far between. In fact, the only way you can really enjoy a widget on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is to jailbreak, and since we're now in the midst of a universal untethered break across the board, now would be as good a time as any for widget fans on Apple's mobile OS to stock up. If you're of the social networking persuasion, then Share Widget, which allows you to post to multiple platforms in one fell swoop, may be of interest to you. It is a Cydia-based tweak, and you can check the details after the leap.
With cameras in smartphones having improved greatly over the past few years, vendors have been finding it increasingly difficult to impress the shot-taking ability of each new release. However, the iPhone 5 released back in 2012 tried to enhance things with a new rear-facing camera that performed better in low-light conditions, and as we continue to seek ways to enjoy clearer snaps in dark places, a new app by the name of Night Vision will help those on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to capture video and take photographs after the sun has gone down.
2013 saw many great announcements and releases in the tech world, yet not even the latest Apple smartphone could upstage the inevitability of the next-gen console wars. Both Sony and Microsoft came through with their respective PlayStation 4 and Xbox One machines after months of teasers and revelations, and although it's too early to determine which of these two titans will reign supreme, both have enjoyed impressive starts in the video game market. Yusuf Mehdi, VP of Marketing, Strategy and Business for the Xbox, has written a reflective piece on the early progress of the latest and greatest, revealing that over three million units have been sold across 13 different countries already.
If stock apps such as Safari, Mail, Weather are crashing after jailbreak with Evasi0n7, here is how you can fix them on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch.
