Samsung has just announced the new and improved iteration of the Galaxy Note series, the third revision of its massive Android based phablet. The redesigned device will now feature a 5.7 inch screen (as compared to the 5.3” version of Note 2), and sports a faux-leather back while being a shade lighter at 168g. Details to follow.

At the IFA 2013 Press Conference today, Sony unveiled a bunch of new gadgets, such as the waterproof Xperia Z, including the much hyped DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 Cyber-shot smartphone lens cameras. Both the devices are scheduled for availability starting September 27, based on Amazon’s official listing, and are going to provide “DSLR-quality shooting from the convenience of a smartphone”. Let’s take a deeper look at both these models right after the break.
HTC One has received accolades of commendation for being an extra-elegant device, and indeed, if you hold it just once, it’s hard to not fall in love with the amazing flagship that the Taiwanese manufacturer has come up with. To make matters more interesting, the company has announced the Vivid Blue variant of the device, aimed to be released for “selected markets” according to official sources.
With Apple having sent out official event invites for their September 10th iPhone event only a while back, there’s little doubt left that Apple will in fact be debuting two different iPhone models this fall, including the iPhone 5S and the cheaper iPhone 5C. Now, we have what can only be termed as an almost-confirmed leaked image of what the latter, the iPhone 5C, would look like, courtesy of Evleaks.
As we move close to September 10th, the “expected” announcement date for the now labeled iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, speculations and rumors have increased manifold, not to mention leaks of all sizes. A new addition to the mix is another “alleged” color for the iPhone 5S, which is none other than graphite, according to a leak from none other than Sonny Dickson.
iOS 7 beta 6 download was seeded about a week or so ago, and is currently the latest available beta version of the next generation iPhone, iPod touch and iPad operating system that has been seeded to Apple’s registered developers. Despite some sources claiming that a beta 7 might also get to see light of the day, it seems unlikely at this point, as neither is there enough time nor much need for that.
File explorers for Android are a dime a dozen, so much so that it seems odd to be reviewing one at all, considering the wide variety of very capable choices that are available for free over at the Google Play Store. This is in part thanks to the open source nature of Android, which allows for much deeper level of access to the file system in comparison to what would otherwise require a jailbreak on Android’s major competitor, iOS. The fact that the developer community for Android is also large and active doesn’t hurt the scenario, either.
Changing hidden settings is a concept that is bound to attract any techie, no matter how mundane the settings might actually be. That’s because the basic idea of playing around with something that’s otherwise inaccessible is catchy to the geeky mind, and the challenge that it poses is sure to intrigue. For smartphones and tablets, this applies even more, because these are devices that we almost invariably use on a daily basis, and like to carry with us at all times.
Every once in a while, there comes a new idea that truly makes consumers go crazy over the product that has been delivered (or proposed, for that matter). Ubi Interactive, a company that has no link whatsoever to Ubisoft, by the way, has come up with the new application that works in conjunction with Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox, and has the ability to convert any flat surface into a virtual “touch-screen” that works with a projector.
