Apple’s Impressive Marina Bay Sands Store Opens Thursday In Singapore

Apple today confirmed that its impressive Marina Bay Sands store will open in Singapore this coming Thursday. It’s the first Apple Store to sit on water, something that despite rumors, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs never quite managed.

The new building offers a full 360-degree view and took 114 pieces of glass to construct.

Entirely surrounded by water, Apple Marina Bay Sands offers uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic views of the city and its spectacular skyline. The sphere is a first-of-its-kind, all-glass dome structure that is fully self-supported, comprised of 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical mullions for structural connection. As Apple’s third retail location in Singapore, the new store creates an unforgettable space for customers.

It’s fair to say that this is one of the most impressive, most recognizable Apple Stores in the world and reservations to be part of its opening day are already full.

It’s easy to see why as well, with indoor images showing that Apple didn’t leave all of its work on the outside. Inside looks just as great, too.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open the breathtaking Apple Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, building on our commitment to this special place that began more than 40 years ago,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People. “Our passionate and talented team is ready to welcome this community to our new store and deliver the care and support that our customers around the world love.”

The new Apple Store will be open in plenty of time for new iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and whatever else Apple announces in the coming weeks. It’ll also probably be the best place to buy as well – who wouldn’t want that view while in line to get a new iPhone?
