Apple To Name 2019 iPhones As ‘iPhone 11’, ‘iPhone 11 Pro’, ‘iPhone 11 Pro Max’ According To Leak

The launch of the 2019 iPhone lineup is now just weeks away which means we will soon have some respite from the rumors. It’s business as usual until then, though, with a new listing of iPhone cases appearing to out the 2019 lineup names.

We’ve heard various people talking about the potential for an iPhone Pro model name this time around, although it’s unclear how that will tie into the larger branding scheme. Now, case-maker ESR appears to have answered some of our questions as noted by iPhoneSoft.

ESR has a product list which includes new iPhone cases and screen protectors. As you’d imagine, that product list also includes product names although it isn’t clear if they are placeholders at this point.

The product list itself shows an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. With that in mind it stands to reason that the iPhone 11 would be the replacement for the iPhone XR, while the iPhone 11 Pro would be the new iPhone XS. The larger iPhone XS Max would then be known as the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

We’re still struggling with the concept of an iPhone 11 Pro Max given the unwieldy branding. It’s just so….long.

While case makers often know the dimensions of new iPhones ahead of time so they can make cases, it isn’t guaranteed that they would have the final product names available to them. If ESR does, though, these are interesting times ahead.

Do you want to own an iPhone 11 Pro Max? It sounds more like migraine relief than an iPhone.
