Apple Launches Immersive Video MLS Experience For Apple Vision Pro

Apple yesterday released its first sports film shot using the new Immersive Video format, giving Apple Vision Pro owners new content to enjoy that features a full 180-degree 3D video experience.

The film is short and shows the highlights from the 2023 Major League Soccer Cup playoffs and is freely available to all Apple Vision Pro owners via the TV app.

The short film is narrated by MLS Season Pass broadcasters Taylor Twellman and Jake Zivin and focuses on the Columbus Crew and LAFC players.

So far the Apple Vision Pro has been short on content of this ilk with this new addition joining the admittedly impressive Adventure’ and ‘Wildlife’ documentaries, as 9to5Mac notes.

Including the new MLS film, there are now a total of five pieces of Immersive Video content available for Apple Vision Pro customers to enjoy. Each are also very short. We are yet to see a full-scale Immersive Video content pipeline in action. Hopefully, Apple is working on building that out so it can deliver full series and films in this format over time.

The Apple Vision Pro headset is currently on sale in the United States only with a starting price of $3,499. That price gets you the 256GB model while 512GB and 1TB models are also available for those who need extra breathing room. A global launch is expected to take place this year but it hasn’t been confirmed which countries will participate.
