iPhone 16 Case Leak Points To Rumored Slimmer Vertical Camera Bump

Apple is expected to announce a number of new iPhones later this year with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus set to be joined by the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

In the case of the non-Pro models we’ve been told to expect something of a camera redesign and now that’s been backed up by a new leak of claimed iPhone 16 cases.

Rumors have previously suggested that Apple intends to do away from the diagonal camera arrangement on a large square plateau in favor of a vertical arrangement similar to the old iPhone XS.

That’s thought to be a change aimed at giving new iPhone owners a way to record spatial videos for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro, a feature that’s only currently available on the iPhone 15 Pro models. Now, cases leaked by Sonny Dickson on X appear to have shown that new arrangement in all its glory.

Another change that we are expecting from the new iPhone 16 is the addition of a Capture button and so far that’s something that previous leaks have backed up. The button will be used for capturing videos in landscape mode and will sit flush with the edge of the iPhone’s metal finish.

It’s expected that the new iPhones will all be announced during an event in September, likely alongside the new Apple Watch X and a refreshed Apple Watch Ultra.
