Amazon Announces The All-New Echo Buds with Improved Noise Cancellation

Amazon has today announced the second generation of its popular Echo Buds earbuds. They’re now more than 20% smaller than the models that came before them and they now also boast enhanced active noise cancellation, according to the company.

The new release also means that there is now a white version of the Echo Buds for the first time, complete with a charging case that looks very similar to the one AirPods Pro users enjoy. And because these things are built by Amazon, Alexa is front and center.

Small, light, and comfortable, Echo Buds are designed to feel great and sound even better, no matter what you’re listening to. Enjoy up to 5 hours of music playback on a single charge and get hands-free access to Alexa—no tapping required.

Amazon seems particularly pleased with its new active noise cancellation technology, including a Passthrough Mode that works in a similar way to Transparency mode on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

Premium speaker drivers deliver crisp, balanced sound. Active noise cancellation limits background noise while Passthrough Mode lets you hear what’s going on around you. Use the onboard tap controls to toggle between the two.

Each pair of Echo Buds comes with four sizes of ear tips and there are even two sizes of wing tips that can be used, too.

The updated Echo Buds sell for just $99.99 right now, although Amazon says that’s an introductory price. After an unspecified period of time Amazon also says that the price will increase to $120, so now might be the time to place an order if you’re interested.
