AirPods Studio Price Starts At $350 But Will Not Be Announced At Oct 13 Event, AirTags To Miss Out As Well

Apple has long been rumored to be working on over-ear headpnones based on the AirPods brand. Leaker Jon Prosser has been all over the so-called AirPods Studio, but he had some bad news today.

According to him, AirPods Studio won’t be ready for an announcement alongside the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro next week.

Instead, says Prosser, the new headphones will have to wait until next month. He also had a note on pricing, saying that the version of AirPods Studio that we’ve already seen leaked are the high-end version. And they’re going to be costly – $599, according to his sources.

Fortunately, there will be a cheaper “sport” version that will sell for $350, although we haven’t yet seen what they will look like.

It also isn’t yet clear what the difference between the two models will be, although we expect cheaper components and construction to be the main differentiators.

In further news of delays, Prosser also says that we won’t see the AirTags that have now been rumored for more than a year. Prosser says we’ll now have to wait for a March 2021 event instead, something that is hugely disappointing for those of us who lose our car keys more regularly than we really should.

Next week’s special event will at least bring new iPhones – four of them, to be exact.
