AirPods Max Shipping Times Are Already Well Into March 2021

Anyone planning on picking up a new pair of AirPods Max should probably have already placed an order by now because they’re going to be in for a wait.

At the time of writing all colors of Apple’s new over-ear headphones are shipping in 12 to 14 weeks. That puts it into the middle of March before delivery is likely to happen.

The new AirPods Max are available in five different colors; Space Gray, Silver, Green, Sky Blue, and Pink. But it doesn’t matter which color you order – you’re going to be in for a long wait.

This is in the United States, but some other countries do seem to be faring a little better. Those in the UK, for example, can get a pair of AirPods Max in the first couple of weeks of January.

Anyone who really wants to get hold of AirPods Max sooner is best waiting for launch day to roll around on December 15. It’s possible some Apple Stores will have stock, while big box retailers like Best Buy seem to be a good bet right now.

It isn’t clear whether demand for the $549 headphones is stronger than we expected or if Apple simply didn’t make enough of these things. Whatever the reason, anyone wanting to get a new pair of headphones this Christmas is probably already out of luck.
