iPad 7 To Go Into Production Soon, 16-Inch MacBook Pro In Q4

Apple’s suppliers are ready to start mass production of a new iPad this month, with the 16-inch MacBook Pro going into mass production during the fourth quarter of this year. That’s according to a new report by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News and via Mac Otakara.

The report claims that Taiwanese firm Radiant Opto-Electronics is the company that will be exclusively providing the backlights for the new products although that was the extent of the information provided. By that we’d also suggest that is the company from which the report originates.

There have been rumors of a new 16-inch MacBook Pro with a new overall design for months, often via the reliable Ming-Chi Kuo. Little is known about the device, other than the fact that it is said to have a display resolution of 3,072 x 1,920.

As for the iPad, the report is believed to be in relation to the 10.2-inch device that has previously been rumored to be replacing the current 9.7-inch model. The current model was released more than a year ago, suggesting a new update is overdue.

Assuming all of this is accurate, then it’s also unclear when these products will ship to the public. It’s possible the iPad will arrive around or shortly after the 2019 iPhones in September. As for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, it’s difficult to predict anything without knowing exactly when mass production begins. We’d expect more leaks about that particular product in due course, though.
