Jailbreak iOS 4.0.1 iPhone 3GS with PwnageTool (Unofficial Release)

There is now an unofficial version of PwnageTool out in the wild which can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (with old bootrom and already pwned on 3.1.2) on the latest iOS 4.0.1 firmware. The creators of the original PwnageTool has confirmed that this version has been modified and redistributed without their permission, and most importantly, it doesn’t patches some important files which are required for the ultrasn0w unlock to work properly.

iOS 4.0.1 Jailbreak

I haven’t tried this tool, and wont recommend using this. I have posted this for informational purposes only. But if you want to give it a go, you can do so at your own risk by finding the download link here: (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=700HE23I). Also, iPhone 3GS users who are jailbroken using Spirit on 3.1.3, and with new bootrom should avoid upgrading to iOS 4.0.1 until new jailbreak tools are available.

If you are an iPhone 3G user, you can follow the complete step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iOS device using Redsn0w, and then unlock it using Ultrasn0w 0.93 on any baseband (including 05.13.04 and 05.12.01).

Folks, this tool is safe and jailbreak your 3GS smootly. The problem is that suck default wallpaper setup which you can't change it. this is really annoying and shouldn't be placed as proof of anything. Bad idea!

i have use this method. its for 4.0 its not selecting the 4.0.1, msg appear wrong firmware bubdle slected. after that

my 3gs is 4.0.1 updated official unlock old bootrom. always stuck when ituns says preparing iphone for restore and on iphone only usb cable and itune icon displayes. and if i keep waiting in my macBook pro itune gives error msg. code 1600 or 1604

i can ever jailbrak my phone till 3.1.3 and all the older firmwares.

but since 4.0 and 4.0.1 i m unable to jailbreak. it always stuck in recovery mode. i dont know how other peoples are saying it is working.

can any one serious one. responsible person can give the exact reason and reply why its not working.

just right delete the “wall.sh” file from inside the “Cydia.bundle” and then search the directory for “Wallpapers.” Delete the whole folder… Worked for me… I have complete control of my Wallpapers, just like normal… Yippeee!

settings>general>about>model. if the model number starts with MB then its the OLD bootrom if the number starts with MC then thats the new bootrom

no, it's not. MC could be old bootrom as well. I got my MC with old bootrom; you can check your phone old or new bootrom with this link http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-check-iphone-3...

My 3GS is now on 3.1.3, and modem firm is 05.12.01, and it is old booth, cause I'm on the 32 week of manufacturing, so is there anyway to update and jailbreak the OS 4 Or 4.x By windwos?

i am a computer novice and was new to the whole iphone thing. got an iphone 3gs from friend (with MC as model no.) dont remember if it had cydia.i updated to ios 4.0.1 accidently through i tunes. then sensing it as a mistake i tried to delete all the data by reseting the phone.this just locked the phone.. have got the phone activated by putting in a valid sim from a friend, but my own sim doesnt work.

need help desperately…

I have a 3GS phone from US, old bootrom on iOS 3.13. I would like to unlock it to be used with any carrier in Europe & India. I have not updated it to the iOS 4.01 yet. Can anyone advise me how soon I could unlock my iPhone with the iOS 4.01?

EVERYONE, this doesnt work I have tried it, the newest jailbreak is out!! In your non jailbreaken iDevice (works on every iPad, iPhone and iPod touch) 3.1.3, 3.1.2, 3.2, 4.0 and 4.0.1 go to safari, type in, jailbreakme.com then slide to jailbreak, that simple, when its done just hit the home button and you will have cydia on your homescreen

i think you never try cydia,

mr. you will not lose guaranty. if you wana claim then restore the original ipsw. and visit apple store.

it will not destroy any software. but you will experience a free world. not in jail.
there are many things games gps softwares we cannot pay 100 dollars to each one of them.
so enjoy lot of softwares free. and the best thing you will learn new things how to update jailbreak and many other things.

BE SURE no software will harm the hardware of your iphone. do what ever you want. nothing will be damaged.

free on itunes are just light or demo versions. when you start enjoy any game it will ask you to pay. and that will make you might through the iphone. and say (****)

ok , than tell us how do download using cidya…cuz i saw just a few unkwon games….for example i want to download fifa 10 .. i searched for it and found it but i cant dld it cuz safari didnt wanted…and this happens with all games…

and…if u have cidya …. the internet on mobile is a ''must have'' ? i mean…how can i install appz on iphone without 3g?

sid jailbreak it you will be able to use your own sim card , iphones are just very fussy even if u bought it from the country they still want the valid sim so all u do is jailbreak it then you will be fine
