Facebook has been long rumored to be getting all its ducks in a row, ready for its Initial Public Offering, or IPO. On Wednesday, the social network flicked the switch, instantly making itself a target for those looking to make money off its huge popularity.

After being in the pipeline for quite some time, Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook has taken the long anticipated plunge and filed to go public with the company’s eagerly anticipated initial public offering (IPO).

As if Facebook wasn’t theatrical enough already, design outfit Definition6 have collaborated with Mark Zuckerberg’s social platform to create an app which morphs your Timeline into a cinematic-esque movie.

Angry Birds is already available for just about every platform under the sun, be that iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7 or Google Chrome, but that apparently isn’t enough for those fluffy little birdies.

If you are one of the estimated 800 million individuals across the globe who have an active Facebook account, then you will of no doubt started noticing some evolutionary changes which are happening to the Social Networking site. One of the biggest changes is the new Timeline feature which offers a radical new way of viewing the history of a specific friend, and has been met by mixed reviews from members.

Facebook is a behemoth of a Social Network. It was only yesterday that we brought you the news that the official Facebook messenger for the Windows operating system had been leaked and was doing the rounds as a private installation file. The chat client followed in the footsteps of Google Talk and Windows Live Messenger to offer a full chat service which utilizes the social feed and friends from your Facebook account.

I don’t think I am being controversial when I say that Facebook chat never really made it to the top of anyone’s preferred chat application list. Granted, it was a late comer to the party and was always going to be behind the likes of Windows Live Messenger and AIM but with the number of active Facebook users recently breaching eight hundred million, one would assume that the chat feature would be highly thought of.

It’s an interesting milestone for both Facebook and Google, and one that perhaps has always been on the cards, but Facebook’s Android app now has more active daily users than the same app on iOS does. The news is made slightly more interesting when you remember that the Android version of the Facebook app was only made available in September of 2009 – more than 12 months after its iPhone-based cousin was made available.

Earlier this week, Facebook rolled out the new Timeline profile view worldwide for both web and Mobile web users. While the update for Android app with Timeline view was available on the same day as well, update for iOS app wasn’t, this was probably because of strict screening process that it had to go through before final approval for iTunes App Store.
