YouTube Kids App Is Now Available On The Apple TV

YouTube Kids is now available as an Apple TV app, the Google-owned company has confirmed. It’s available in a whole host of countries including the United States and United Kingdom. Children don’t even need to have a Google account in order to use it.

YouTube Kids was first announced in 2015 as a way to allow kids to watch YouTube but only have access to kid-friendly content.

There are parental controls built into the app and existing controls will transfer from the normal YouTube app, too. Parents have the option to not only limit kids to viewing content that has been given the green light by YouTube, but also limit things further if required.

If you choose to sign into the app on your TV, your parent controls and settings will transfer to the YouTube Kids experience on Apple TV. If you want to change any of your settings, you can do so in the app on a tablet or phone.

Users can download the new YouTube Kids app from the App Store on newer Apple TVs. Once they’ve done that it’s all plane sailing.

It’s important to remember that this is still YouTube, however, and no amount of safeguarding is going to ensure with 100% certainty that nothing will slip through the net.
