WhatsApp is testing a change that will see its heart emojis be animated for the first time. While the red heart emoji is already animated, that is the only one.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, more colors will soon follow suit with the emojis pumping whether they are orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, or white.

It’s worth noting this feature is already available for the web and desktop versions of WhatsApp, so this change will bring iOS and Android along for the ride.

As you know, when you send a red heart emoji, it is shown through an animation, but it is only visible when sending that specific red heart. The new change will introduce the same animation for all other heart emojis.

At this time it appears the change hasn’t even been pushed out to all beta testers, so it could be some time before everyone gets to try it out. The fact the feature exists is a good sign though and it’s surely only a matter of time before everyone can watch beating hearts on their iPhones and Android devices.

WhatsApp can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones and from the Google Play Store for Android devices — it’s a free download.
