Tim Cook: Expect A “Big Announcement” From Apple Tomorrow

Apple isn’t normally one for pre-announcing things but it seems ‘CBS This Morning’ has done it for it. Sharing a clip today that showed Apple CEO Tim Cook speaking about the recent goings-on at the Capitol, presenter Gayle King let the cat out of the bag and confirmed something is set to be announced tomorrow.

The main part of the clip sees Cook pushed on his stance relating to the Capitol and whether people should be held accountable. Cook confirmed that he does, although he stopped just short of mentioning President Trump specifically.

“I think it’s key that people be held accountable for it. This is not something that should skate. This is something we’ve got to be very serious about, and understand, and then we need to move forward.”

Cook was later pushed on his stance on Trump, but he simply said that he didn’t believe anyone “is above the law.”

As for Apple followers, the most interesting point came after Cook’s interview, when King said that there is a “big announcement” coming tomorrow. Importantly, King did note that this isn’t a product announcement.

Internet scuttlebutt suggests we could see something relating to Apple’s philanthropic efforts, while others think that something in the realm of privacy will be the main point of the announcement. Whatever it turns out to be, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
