Xbox One November Update Rolling Out Now, Here’s What Is New

Ben Reid·November 10, 2014
The release of the Xbox One console by Microsoft late last year was significant for gamers eager to get their paws on some new hardware. But, like rival Sony and its PlayStation 4, the original and current configuration of the Xbox One is subject to improvement from both a design and software perspective, and with the one-year anniversary of the third Microsoft console upon us, the Windows maker has added Twitter integration and some UI tweaks, among a number of smaller new features to the fold.

Xbox One Getting A Big Price Cut Just For This Holiday Season [Video]

Ben Reid·October 27, 2014
Microsoft might have won the battle of the last-gen console wars, with its Xbox 360 having narrowly claimed victory over Sony's PlayStation 3, but this time around, things haven't gone entirely the software company’s way. The PlayStation 4 has had a great start since both it and the Xbox One rolled out late last year, and while the former's more powerful hardware will no doubt have helped to reel in the purists, pricing has certainly played a part in these early stages. The Xbox One, after all, launched at a higher price than its Japanese competitor, but with the Windows maker having already made the console cheaper by selling it without the Kinect sensor, it's now in line for its very first price drop later on this year.

Microsoft has been the subject of all kinds of ire since the release of its Xbox One thanks to a slew of missing or simply ill-equipped features when compared to its big competition, Sony's PlayStation 4. Since its arrival late last year though, the Xbox One has received a number of monthly updates that have seen most of the issues raised addressed, but that doesn't mean that the Xbox team is ready to call it a day.

Gold PlayStation 4, Xbox One Now Available – If You Happen To Live In Dubai

Ben Reid·September 12, 2014
It's a tad early in the life cycle of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the yearning for new color configurations to begin. But with Microsoft having already confirmed that a white edition of its newest console courtesy of the Sunset Overdrive bundle, it's likely that we'll begin to see all manner of different variants as both Sony and Microsoft look to broaden appeal. If you happen to live in Dubai, however, you can already pick up both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in shiny gold, and given that real rose gold is used in the modification process as opposed to gold plating, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that it costs a bomb.

This Beautiful Matte Xbox One Concept Is Considerably Better Than The Current Design

Ben Reid·August 28, 2014
Microsoft's Xbox One isn't a slick as it might have been, and although we're expecting revised design and coloring options to trickle out over the next few years, one concept maker has come through with something rather special. The matte black finish, which is curved and rounded off to complement the design of the all-new Xbox One controller, has us wishing it were real, and below, you can check it out for yourself.

EA’s Netflix-like All-You-Can-Play Game Service For Xbox One Is Now Live For Everyone

Oliver Haslam·August 12, 2014
When EA announced its Access service a few weeks ago, everyone stood up and took notice. While the folks at Sony apparently didn't think it was a big deal, those on the limited beta felt otherwise. Now, as of today, that beta has given way to a full service that is available to anyone in the United States who owns an Xbox One that's connected to the Internet.

EA’s Netflix-like All-You-Can-Play Gaming For Xbox One Just Got Even Better

Ben Reid·August 9, 2014
A short while ago, EA announced a deal with Microsoft that would allow gamers to play a number of titles from its catalog for a subscription fee. At $4.99 for the month or $29.99 for a whole year, it seemed to good to be true, but in actual fact, it just got even better.
