At last it has happened, the popular VLC app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been removed from the App Store after Apple received the official copyright infringement complain from VLC developers.
After releasing PS3 root keys publicly this week, the famous iPhone hacker George Hotz (aka Geohot) is back today with an update on his site, that reads “I made a video”. The video shows a jailbroken PlayStation 3 on the latest 3.55 firmware, running homebrew.
We have just been tipped off about the possible name for the next jailbreak by Geohot, called Rubyra1n. The domain Rubyra1n.com was registered by the iPhone hacker named George Hotz (aka geohot) on 27th March 2010.

In a TED talk held last month, Cydia creator Saurik said that only about 10% percent of iPhone users jailbreak their iPhones. AppSync has been updated to version 4.2 so that it can be used with the new iOS 4.2.1 firmware. For those of you who don’t know, AppSync patches MobileInstallation file on iOS which is needed in order to install .ipa files manually without using iTunes.
