We've all been there - happily humming along to a song, unable to get it out of our minds, when suddenly - we don't actually know the next line of lyrics.
Late last week, we covered Sara - a jailbreak-only Siri alternative which actually worker rather well. Of course, life experiences will tell us that nothing usually compares to the real thing, but for those not sold by the rather unspectacular iPhone 4S, it does a grand job.
Remember the times when people used to meet new people at a bar and exchange phone numbers of email addresses? Well, if the release of AddFriend for iOS is anything to go by, that exchange of numbers/email is being replaced by adding each other over on the world’s biggest social network Facebook. Check it out after the jump.
It was almost nine months ago that we brought you the original article regarding the release of the AndroidLoader tweak onto the Cydia store. May 2011 saw developer Surenix release AndroidLoader for jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches which gave users the ability to use a tap or slide in gesture to view all of their installed applications in one place. The name of the tweak will no doubt give it away, but the intention of the modification was to mimic the behavior of the app launcher that is found on the Android operating system.
There can be no denying that the favored jailbreak flavor of late 2011 and 2012 has to be the iOS 5 exclusive Notification Center and Siri digital assistant. The inclusion of the two new features in the public release of iOS 5 presented practically limitless opportunities for developers when it comes to extending their native limited abilities.
It's that time of year again, and the 54th annual GRAMMY awards are taking place tonight, with the pre-show kicking off in the afternoon. If you're into your awards shows then you'll no doubt be wanting to tune in!
I think I speak for the majority of consumer electronics fans when I say that we would all love the chance to have the financial backing of a company like Apple to be able to dream up our own product line of innovative, beautiful and outrageously expensive products. Imagine your own home full of gadgets that you have imagined, invented and then had Apple bring them to life for the world to lust over. Unfortunately, unless you are a product designing genius who gets snapped up and produces the next big thing, the chances are that dream is more than likely unreachable but designer Antonio De Rosa has produced a line of dream gadgets for Apple’s 2012 lineup.
The world is going Siri crazy. Well, maybe not the whole world, but it seems that Apple's personal assistant software has caused a storm with the iPhone 4S flying off shelves, television commercials popping up all over the place, the Cydia store being infiltrated by Siri based enhancements and even developers pushing out Siri clones onto other mobile operating systems. In the last few weeks alone we have seen the introduction of the 'Evi' iPhone application, as well as 'Sara' making her way onto the Cydia store.
There is no doubt about the fact that the current trend for Cydia tweaks is all about modifying the new Notification Center and giving additional functionality to the Siri digital assistant software. Since the release of iOS 5 in October of last year, the Cydia store has been inundated with modifications and tweaks which add widgets, settings and even an animated Nyan cat to the Notification Center screen, but in all honesty there are only a handful which are any good.
One of the things we often take for granted from our mobile devices is the ability to quickly transfer files between any Bluetooth-capable devices. iOS doesn't really play ball, though, leaving iPhone users to look for other means to share audio, video, and image files.
