We should all be well aware by now that the next-generation iPhone is just around the corner, and if your excitement levels aren't sitting at an unprecedented level, then it's time to dig deep and get that adrenaline flowing in anticipation of what should hopefully be the best iPhone yet from the Cupertino-based technology giants. The word on the cyber street is that we should expect to be able to pre-order the new iPhone immediately after announcement, but may have to wait until September 21st for delivery before it can be physically in our hands.
August is fast approaching an end and it means only one thing to the Apple-loving-smartphone world, we are getting ever closer to the official announcement from Apple regarding the sixth-generation iPhone release. September 12th is the day on which we believe Apple will be holding their press event to introduce us all to the new iPhone, and although, it has yet to be officially confirmed by the world's most valuable company, there has been overwhelming evidence that something is happening, and soon.
With every day passing by, we get a step closer to next-generation iPhone. With so much attention being lavished on the new iPhone over the last few months, interest in the device seems to be at unprecedented levels with consumers and technology enthusiasts all over the globe waiting with bated breath to see what Apple will bring to the table with their latest creation. The various leaked photographs that have surfaced have given us a pretty decent insight into what to expect aesthetically, but the internal specifications remain largely a mystery, with only a few educated guesses being made about what we should be expecting. With that said, we shouldn't be entirely focusing our attention on new hardware when we still have current-generation devices in circulation.
Prior to the release of any new device, the current batch always get its prices slashed so as to shift as many as possible as a kind of last hurrah, and it appears the iPhone 4S is entering its twilight phase. The iPhone 4, which has been around for over two years now, has seen price cuts here and there for a while, but the current flagship device, which released back in October of last year, has remained pretty much the same price hitherto.
With the release of the next-generation iPhone just around the corner, we could be forgiven for thinking we already have a pretty accurate idea of what Apple is going to introduce to the world next month. Over the last few months, we have been treated to regular viewings of leaked images of individual components, as well as a few documents that claim to show the new iPhone assembled in all of its beautiful glory. Of course, the fully assembled images could all be part of an elaborate ruse to throw us off the scent, or may even just be a shell prototype that is distributed to official equipment manufacturers to design and build their wares, but they have succeeded in making us anticipate the release.
Although nothing should ever be taken for granted in the run-up to a new release from Apple, the tech world seems fairly convinced of which shape the next iPhone will take. Last year, the blogosphere was most certainly fooled by the prospect of an "iPhone 5," and left somewhat disappointed by the largely unchanged iPhone 4S, but this time around, there is a great deal of evidence suggesting we're closer to the mark this time around.
The excitement and adrenaline that surrounds the release of any new or upgraded Apple product is something that manages to take hold of the technology loving world every time the company decides to push out a new or updated piece of kit. We may feel frustrated for allowing ourselves to get so excited about a gadget or a smartphone release, but for reasons known only to themselves, a lot of people have a strong emotional attachment to Apple's kit.
In this wonderful modern world that we live in, there isn't really a great deal that can't be proved or disproved by applying science and logic to the situation, but what about those instances when we want to generate results by using concrete? Yes, you heard me, concrete. Common sense should really dictate that when it comes to smartphones, gravity and rock solid concrete, there will really only be one victor, but when has common sense ever stopped us from doing anything?
The iPhone Dev Team has released the updated version of their Redsn0w tool which was teased a while back on Twitter by MuscleNerd. The update as you’d expect is a very significant one, and brings with it the support for downgrading the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new 3rd-gen iPad to an earlier version of iOS 5 from iOS 5.1.1.
With Apple pushing out the latest version of iOS, taking the current release to 5.1.1, users are once again split right down the middle, thinking whether or not they should update to the latest firmware. On one side of the fence are the everyday users who use their iPhone without any modifications, but on the other side are the jailbreakers and unlockers who are always understandably hesitant when the update notifications come through.
