The Samsung Gear Fit fitness tracker and smartwatch is probably the least bulky smartwatch around, but it’s also more of a fitness tracker than the kind of smartwatch that we’re all so excited about getting. That doesn’t mean that it’s not awesome though, and if you’ve been on the fence about picking one up and happen to live in the United States, then now might be a great time to take the plunge.

Samsung introduced the world to the extremely anticipated Galaxy S5 during this year’s Mobile World Congress in February. In the time that’s followed, Android loving consumers and industry analysts have been passionately discussing the device and debating whether or not its’ feature set is solid enough to make a serious dent at the top of the smartphone charts. Samsung themselves have even indicated that they need the Galaxy S5 to go down a storm to allow them to post bumper financial results. The roller coaster ride really beings now for Sammy, who have announced that the Galaxy S5 and accompanying Gear wearables have gone on sale in 125 countries worldwide.

As well as taking the wraps off the flagship Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, Samsung also introduced a slew of new wearables. The Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, as well as the Gear Fit, were all showcased by the South Korean outfit at the event, but while we have a decent insight into their tech. specs and features, the pricing has hitherto eluded us. Thanks to the launch of the Gear 2 and Gear Fit in Taiwan, we now know roughly how much the two smartwatches will retail for, although the cost of the Gear 2 Neo still remains a mystery.

At Mobile World Congress towards the end of February, Samsung showcased its latest and greatest Galaxy S5 smartphone to the world. Like the launch of the Galaxy Note 3 back in September, the Korean outfit also added a smartwatch to proceedings, and after a generally negative response to the initial Galaxy Gear, the company will be hoping that the Gear 2 fares a great deal better. To whet the appetites of fans excited about the forthcoming releases, Samsung has delivered a hands-on video offering a walk-through of the Galaxy S5, as well as a further clip demonstrating the numerous bells and whistles of the Gear 2 and Gear Fit. The announcements at MWC 2014 are flowing, and we’re covering them as they happen. One of the big guns that unveiled some remarkable tech today was Samsung, and boy, did they have things to offer. Other than the shiny new flagship in the Galaxy lineup, the Galaxy S5, Samsung showcased three new contenders in its Gear lineup, showing just how serious the Korean manufacturer is about this line of business.
