A few days ago, we talked about CyanogenMod 7 port for Kindle Fire. A young developer who goes by the name of JackpotClavin came up with it; he posted two photos which showed a pre-alpha build of CyanogenMod 7 running on the Kindle Fire but did not release the required files, that is until today when he updated the official thread over on XDA. CyanogenMod 7 for HP TouchPad has made further progress today, as the developers have announced a tool called ACME Installer which will allow users to dual-boot CM7 with webOS on their TouchPad.

The developer community is getting closer and closer to a stable Android port for the HP TouchPad. In a video uploaded recently, Redmond Pie has learned that CyanogenMod 7 for the HP TouchPad has got multitouch working, GPU acceleration has been enabled and the popular custom ROM just looks better on the TouchPad thanks to “proper pixel formatting”.

We’re getting closer and closer to a stable Android port for the HP TouchPad – a webOS-based tablet which was discontinued less than two weeks ago. A new video has been released today which shows the HP TouchPad booting into CyanogenMod 7 which suggests that development of Android on HP TouchPad is coming along very nicely.
