Sony PlayStation Portal Pre-Orders Are Now Live, Release Date Revealed

After announcing the PlayStation Portal pricing earlier this month Sony has now confirmed exactly when it will go on sale. And it’s definitely before Christmas as we had been expecting.

Sony announced the news on its blog, saying that the PSP is now available for preorder via its website before going on sale on November 15.

The company also confirmed that there will be preorders via third-party retailers, but they won’t kick in until next month.

PlayStation Portal remote player will launch in select markets on November 15, 2023 and is now available for pre-order at direct.playstation.com in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Starting on September 29, 2023, PlayStation Portal remote player can also be pre-ordered from other select retailers in these countries, as well as Canada and Japan. Additional regional availability will be announced at a later date.

The PSP will allow people to remotely play games from their PS5, even if they aren’t on the same network. There is no cloud gaming component however, so you’ll need to have the game installed on your PS5 for the PSP to be able to play it. You’ll also be limited by your home internet connection if you play outside your home’s network.

Just like the PS5’s DualSense controllers, the PSP will feature things like haptic feedback and analog triggers, while large 8-inch LCD display will play games at 1080p and up to 60fps.
