Refreshed AirPods Pro 2 Rumored For Launch In Third Quarter Of 2022

Apple isn’t expected to refresh its popular AirPods Pro until the third quarter of 2022, if a new rumor is to be believed. That rumor claims to be based on supply chain sources.

According to Twitter user @FronTron, the new AirPods Pro 2 will arrive in the third quarter of 2022, which means we should expect to see the earbuds debut between the beginning of July and the end of September.

And while the leaker might not be one that many are familiar with, MacRumors says their tip comes directly from the supply chain.

While @FronTron has a very limited track record for accurate leaks, the leaker told MacRumors that the tip comes directly from the supply chain and is based on the same source of theirs that predicted AirPods Pro 2 would arrive next year, several days before Kuo said the same thing in a June 30 investors note. While the latter appears to be true, the new information should still be taken with a grain of salt at this point in time.

Previous reports suggest that Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 will feature a shorter stem than the previous model, while talk of new health-related features continues to swirl.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu have pointed to the potential for new fitness tracking capabilities to be added to the next AirPods Pro, with a new MagSafe charging case also likely.
