Inspired by the overclocking capabilities of the Motorola Droid, folks at XDA-Developers have managed to overclock the most powerful Android phone available today – the Google Nexus One to 1.113Ghz. Well it looks like Apple has started banning iPhone hackers from the iTunes App Store. Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer and hacker who recently found an exploit in the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3, which could enable the unlock on 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and 3G devices has been banned by Apple for the so called “security reasons”. This is what Sherif gets when he tries to access App Store from his iPhone.
A new Android 2.1 ROM for Google Nexus One has leaked in the wild. This new ERE36B non-OTA is said to include a new radio, in a bid to fix the ongoing 3G issue which has been hampering T-Mobile Nexus One users since its January 5th launch.
AppSync patches MobileInstallation file on iPhone OS 3.x which is needed in order to install .ipa files manually without using iTunes. Some Photoshop magic on the Windows Phone logo posters hanging across the streets in Barcelona has unveiled the name “7 Series” underneath the main logo. This hidden name probably refers to the upcoming Windows phone handsets, which will be powered by Windows Mobile 7.
It wont be long before some newer apps from the iTunes App Store will require you to have the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware in order to install a particular app. Earlier this month, Apple released the new iPhone OS 3.1.3 for iPhone and iPod touch which upgraded the baseband to 05.12.01 for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, hence making it impossible to unlock them on the latest firmware with the newer baseband.
A working exploit has said to be found by an iPhone hacker named Sherif Hashim. The exploit was sent to iPhone Dev-Team and they have confirmed that it is working but have not given any ETA on when or if they are going to release a tool which is going to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 05.12.01 Baseband for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Maybe they don't want to waste this all important exploit for this minor update and instead will use it when the major update such as iPhone 3.2 or iPhone 4.0 is released with the next-gen iPhone 4G.
Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 V1.5.1 has been quietly released. This minor update brings Youtube fix which was hampering users in the last release. Also added in this version is more speed and reliability. Unfortunately, Blacksn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS is still crippled in this version. If you have iPhone 2G, 3G or iPhone touch 1G/2G, you can use sn0wbreeze to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3.
Microsoft has just released the Release Candidate version of Visual Studio 2010 for public download. You can now download and try out Visual Studio 2010 RC and .NET Framework 4 RC before the final version which is due to hit retail in this first quarter of 2010.
Panasonic has announced a new line-up of “Let’s Go” notebooks and amongst them is a netbook “Let’s Note”, sporting the new Intel Core i7 processor. The netbook in question boasts of a 1.20GHz Intel Core i7-650UM vPro processor with a 10.4-inch (1024 x 768) display. Intel’s Atom chip is the standard stuff that is showing around all over as the driving CPU of the 10.1 inches netbooks these days like the Dell Mini and HP Mini, so to have a netbook with Core i7 is surely an amazing thing for this form factor.
