iH8sn0w’s Sn0wbreeze 1.6 is almost ready for primetime use. He will release it in a day or two. For those of you who don't know, Sn0wbreeze 1.6 is by the same developer who is behind other popular iPhone jailbreak tools such as sn0wbreeze for iPhone 3.1.3, f0recast and BlackBreeze.
First of iPhone 4 reviews are now popping up on the Internet. From Wall Street Journal, to USA Today, to New York Times, to Engadget, all have great things to say about this new product. One thing which most of them have agreed upon is the fact that this is the smartphone to beat !!
TinyUmbrella has been updated to support the new iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 2G/3G. iPad is also supported but iOS 4 for iPad isn't available yet. iPhone 3G is not supported because you don't need to save SHSH blobs for iPhone 3G, and older iPod touch (non MC model).
iPhone 4 was originally scheduled for delivery on 24th June. Then we heard about 23rd June delivery for some of the customers who got the confirmation from AT&T in an email. And now, it looks like FedEx has already delivered some units to lucky lads who have posted first of unboxing pictures for everyone to see. Pictures after the break.
Apparently, there is an unofficial version of PwnageTool out in the wild which can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (with old bootrom and already pwned on 3.1.2) on the latest iOS 4 firmware. The creators of the original PwnageTool has confirmed that this version has been modified and redistributed without their permission, and most importantly, it doesn’t patches some important files which are required for the ultrasn0w unlock to work properly.
Redsn0w has been updated to bring jailbreak support for the newly released final version of iOS 4 for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G. Available for both Windows and Mac, redsn0w jailbreak tool additionally also enables options for multitasking and background wallpapers on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G which otherwise are disabled by Apple.
The infamous iPhone hacker George Hotz (aka Geohot) is in France these days, taking part in Nuit Du Hack conference which is currently being held in Paris. During his presentation at the conference, he mentioned that he has found a new bootrom exploit, which can ultimately pwn all iPhones for life, including the yet to be released iPhone 4. He has named this exploit as “pwned4life”.
As was expected, Apple has just released iBooks app for iPhones iPod touches running the newly released iOS 4. This release basically makes iBooks a universal binary, which means that you can run the same app on both the iPhone and iPad.
Apple today has released iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G and iPod touch 2G to public as a free download via iTunes. This is the same build 8A293 which was released as GM candidate on June 7th. For those of you who don't know, iOS 4 was formerly known as iPhone OS 4 and was renamed to iOS at this years’ WWDC 10 where iOS 4 was first released to developers.
The new iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4) is without any doubt a major update for the iPhone and iPod touch, bringing tons of features like organizing apps in folders, multitasking and so on. The new iPhone 4 will of course ship with this new version of iOS come June 24th (or 23rd for some).
