Why do the likes of Google and Apple think that if they won’t roll out an update officially, it will never come the consumers way? Maybe they have that holier than thou attitude but developers in the more free world have the brains and tools to do so. Without actually waiting for the term official attached.
Earlier this month, Comex of Spirit and JailbreakMe fame confirmed that a more efficient userland-based untethered jailbreak method for iOS 4.2.1 will be released before Christmas 2010.
The developers behind the popular Air Hockey for iPhone game are working to bring the same title and experience to Mac OS X. Air Hockey on the Mac will be available on the Mac App Store at launch and is almost identical to the iOS version.
Word Lens is a new augmented reality app for iOS devices that instantly translates printed words from one language to another in real time using the camera on your iPhone. You can point your camera lens at a sign that's written in Spanish and it will immediately provide an English translation. My smartphone is half useless if it doesn’t have quality games or an absence of the gaming concept entirely and I bet same goes for many others. The iPhone 5 is yet to be seen, demoed or even announced by Apple, but this hasn't stopped a Chinese manufacturer from demoing an iPhone 5 ‘clone’. It’s very likely that the clone is not running iOS and is more likely running Android with a custom iPhone skin on it. As you can see from the picture below there has not been much imagination used, as it looks more like a thinner version of the 3GS than anything else.
