A new Cydia app by the name of Gridlock has been released which enables iPhone and iPod touch users to freely position icons anyway they want on their homescreen. With Gridlock, you no longer need blank icon apps which has these ugly shadows and you have to be careful not to tap on them by mistake. It gives you full freedom arrange your apps any way you like, as can be seen in the screenshots below.

iPod touch 4G was announced only a few days back at Apple’s annual “Special Media Event” in San Francisco. Even though the new “touch” has got two cameras: one on the back for HD video recording and one on the front for FaceTime calls, 960 x 640 Retina Display and all, but the fact that the camera on the back can only take still shots at 0.7 megapixels was met with disappointment by many.

Finally! After a long wait, YourTube app has been updated to version 2.0, bringing full iOS 4.x support for jailbroken iOS devices including the support for iPhone 4 Retina Display and iPad. Not only can you now download YouTube videos on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, but you can now also import all your downloaded video in iPod app seamlessly! This new feature is dubbed as “Gremlin” and will also be available later for other Cydia apps such as Safari Download Manager and Attachment Saver.

Back when iOS 4 was released, it had all sorts of performance issues when it ran on older devices such as iPhone 3G. Last month, Jobs confirmed that a new software update will fix some performance woes of iPhone 3G running iOS 4.x. Final GM Build of iOS 4.1 (developers only) was released this week for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and iPod touch and Lifehacker has a video up for us, comparing both iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 running on iPhone 3G. The difference is quite noticeable in some cases as can be seen in the video embedded below.
