With Apple having announced the date earlier on today for WWDC 2013, we’re bracing ourselves for a marked rise in the number of Apple-related news, rumors and reports. With iOS 6 having failed, in the opinion of many, to bring any dramatic improvements on iOS 5, the concepts and ideas for iOS 7 have been arriving thick and fast. The one you're about to see below, as well as having been presented in a very professional manner, is one of the best iOS 7 concepts yet, and features a radically redesigned interface including a new Notification Center, widget support, and lock screen toggles. Catch the full demonstration video after the break!
With Sony having gotten in ahead of Microsoft in announcing its next-gen PlayStation 4 console all the way back in February, it was only going to be a matter of time before the Redmond company responded with a significant announcement of its own. Today, the software maker has sent out media invitations to an event on May 21st, 2013 at the Redmond HQ, and as you'll see from an image of the invitation posted below, there's little doubt as to what the main topic of conversation will be.
Everyone should have access to an Apple Store. It's almost a basic human right - like clean water and McDonald’s. But while most countries have some sort of retail outlet peddling products fresh from Cupertino, not everywhere has an official Apple Store.
Samsung's Galaxy S4 is currently among the most sought after devices in the smartphone industry. The latest in a long line of successful Galaxy S releases, it packs a quad / octa-core processor, 13-megapixel snapper and a hefty two gigs of RAM, among a deluge of other high-spec features. One oft-visited critique of the device and those preceding it, however, is that the cheap, polycarbonate finish is not adequate protection for such a high-end device, and although stopping short suggesting a sturdier finish to the outer shelling, Samsung Gulf Electronics president Young Soo Kim has indicated that the company's prized asset may arrive as a dust and waterproof device in the next few months.
It has been established that Samsung's Galaxy S4 is an all-singing, all-dancing powerhouse, and considering the Korean company always uses the device as a leaning post for some of its most advanced and up-to-date hardware, we'd expect nothing less. Taking this into account, it should also be of very little surprise that the handset's Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor offers the fastest gaming graphics of any smartphone currently available to buy.
We've recently heard that the sportswear giant - Nike - is investing time and resources into the digital startup scene to build the ultimate fitness platform, but it's great to know that they haven't forgotten about their existing and loyal FuelBand user base and have pushed out an update to the iOS app with a couple of notable additions.
Mozilla's Firefox OS looks, on the face of it, to be a clean, smooth, simple experience, and although no vendors have actually signed up as of yet to ship the touch-based operating system on their mobile devices, two developer handsets were available to purchase from Geeksphone, and were sold out within hours of availability. Starting at just $119, the devices that were on offer present an enticing prospect to anybody interested in the company's open-source mobile ecosystem, and although the Firefox OS is looking to do battle in an ever-crowded market, the legions of Firefox fanatics behind the project give it a very strong chance of forging a substantial user base.
With Google's big I/O event just around the corner, rumors are flying as to what will be the main attraction when the Google's top brass take to the stage. People have been suggesting that we will see at least one new Android smartphone, whilst others suggest that a redesigned Nexus 7 tablet is on the cards.
It's not secret that trying to be like Iron Man would not only lead to the end of all meaningful relationships for the rest of your life, and a perchant for nearly getting killed, but unsurprisingly it also means that you'd need to have a cool $10 billion in the bank to get the whole show on the road.
In what must go down as a real coup for all couch potatoes, an official Pizza Hut app has just landed for the Xbox 360. What it means is, aside from nipping off to the bathroom, you won't actually need to leave your armchair for the entire weekend, provided it's one of those recliner chairs that allow you to quickly morph into a sleeping position. Notice how I didn't mention taking a shower? Let's just say, I have seen gamers on a binge, and aside from seldom being a pretty sight, the accompanying smells within a gamer's lair often do leave much to be desired.
