Mobile devices have come a long way since the iPhone took the market by storm back in 2007, and as well as offering powerful apps, better games and enhanced overall functionality, point-and-shoot photography has also benefited from improved camera capabilities.
If you've splashed out the big bucks on a new iPhone then the chances are you're going to want to protect it. For most of us that means putting it into a case that at least claims to offer some sort of protection against bumps and scrapes, as well as possibly the odd fall here and there. But that's about it.
Black Friday is the time of year that a lot of people wait for, and for good measure. It’s probably the best time to buy any product that you’ve been craving for, especially gadgets and related assortments. Traditionally, hardware isn’t the only component that sees price slashes; a lot of apps, games, widgets and whatnot goes through price cuts as well, and gives buyers a wonderful opportunity to enhance their arsenal with coveted titles.
Black Friday isn't just a day for getting in line outside your nearest big box retailer in the hope that you'll be able to snag that big screen TV or the last remaining Furby. These days the fun happens just as much online as it does on the high street, and that goes for digital stores as well. Sales are currently kicking off all over the internet, and Apple's iOS App Store is no different.
Although the PlayStation 4 might have released a week earlier than its Microsoft-made rival in the United States, the opposite is true in the UK, where tonight, avid gamers will begin queuing for Sony's latest and greatest console. But while Microsoft has indicated that the Xbox One is built to last and should see out the next ten or so years, Sony's UK boss has suggested that the PS4 mightn't even manage the lifespan of its predecessor, the PS3, which released some seven years ago.
You may remember Richard Ryan from RatedRR as the enthusiastic individual who decided to see how a brand new PlayStation 4 fares against a .50 caliber rifle. As you might have guessed, it turns out that Sony didn't build the PS4 to withstand relatively close range, high-powered rifle shots. With the Xbox One now widely available, it seems only fair for Ryan to put Microsoft's console through the same test, albeit with the addition of 16-foot detonation cord and a new "drag-race" setup.
The CyanogenMod team is one of the most active and dedicated in the Android community, but today has been dealt something of a blow by the Google Play Store support team after it asked the newly-formed company to remove its CyanogenMod Installer app from the Play Store. The reasoning behind the decision was cited as a "violation of Google Play’s developer terms," and the Cyanogen team was subsequently told to either remove the app, or it would be removed for them.
Dual-SIM smartphones seldom see the light of day in the western world, but the newly-updated HTC One includes two SIM card slots - ideal for frequent travellers, business and pleasure separators or those leading double lives. It's about to hit the UK market for £494.99, which is just a fraction more than the standard edition, and for those who've been waiting for a decent dual-SIM handset to hit the scene, the highly revered HTC One is probably your guy.
The iPad mini, which was recently given a Retina display and improved processor by Apple, is one of the most sought-after tablets on the market right now. As is the case with most new Apple products, the knock-off makers have been hot on its trail to deliver something similar for a lower price, and although the Chuwi V88's 1024 x 768 display puts it on par with the old iPad mini, the $177 price tag - coupled with the fact that it boasts some fairly useful specs - means it might be worth checking out for those seeking something like the iPad mini without the iPad mini price.
It's that time of year again folks where everyone sits down to eat as much turkey and pie as they can without passing out. It's also the time of year when everyone risks life and limb to get the very best deals they can. That's right, Black Friday 2013 is almost upon us, and the online sales have already begun.
