You Can Now Set ‘Custom’ As Gender On Facebook

Paul Morris·February 14, 2014
In its ten year existence, Facebook has already shown us that it is prepared to make changes and amendments that it feels will benefit its member base. Some of those changes have manifested themselves as part of a radical functionality or interface overhaul, while others have been a lot more subtle and have focused on individual settings that are accessible by registered members. In a move that is aimed at affording Facebook members the right to express their true identity, the social network is now offering a custom gender option as part of the process that involves selecting a sex.

BBM 2.0 For iPhone And Android Released: Voice Calling, Location Sharing And More [VIDEO]

Oliver Haslam·February 14, 2014
It took far too long in the eyes of many, but when BlackBerry first brought BBM to both Android and iOS, the app and associated service was met with a tepid response at best. While it's true that BBM has, or at least had a core user base that was propping BlackBerry up despite its many failings, alternatives like WhatsApp left Android and iOS users wondering what all the fuss was about. It didn't help that the apps weren't great, either.

How To Add A Dictionary And Encyclopedia To iOS 7 Control Center

Ben Reid·February 14, 2014
Apple's range of native iOS apps is pretty expansive these day, but is still arguably missing one key component - a dictionary. Sure, there's a dictionary there in spirit, ensuring that you don't make any spelling mistakes when typing up a message, but if you want to actually look up words and discover your definitions, you have to saunter on down to the App Store and find a suitable app. Luckily, thanks to a new tweak by the name of Define for iOS 7, you can enjoy an integrated dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia-like (read: Wikipedia) experience right from the Control Center.

How To Switch iOS 7 Keyboard Language On The Fly

Oliver Haslam·February 14, 2014
When Steve Jobs announced the original iPhone way back in 2007, he made a real point of explaining why having an on-screen software keyboard was superior to using a hardware alternative. These days it seems obvious that having software keyboards means that we can customize that experience to the Nth degree, but six years ago it was a novelty. How times have changed.

Acies Theme For iPhone Refines Apple’s Already Great iOS 7 Flat Design

Ben Reid·February 13, 2014
iOS 7 may have represented the most significant change to the look and functionality of Apple's mobile OS in its short history, but even though the flatter, brighter interface seems to have gone down well, the luxury of the Evad3rs jailbreak has prompted themes galore. Today, we're going to be looking at a neat little theme called Acies, which, although similar to the stock layout in that it keeps things flat, crisp and minimalistic, tones down the bright colors with a more tranquil, calm, and inviting finish.

Angry Birds Stella Game Announced, Featuring All New Birds! [Image]

Paul Morris·February 13, 2014
Flappy Bird, Threes and Clash of Clans is definitely what’s happening in the iOS gaming world at the moment. The addictiveness and challenging nature of Flappy Bird has ensured that it still remains installed on millions of iOS devices, even though the developer has permanently removed it from the App Store. The popularity of the annoying little bird has managed to provide a ray of hope as indie developers and small game studios try and compete with the larger development houses. As one bird disappears from the mobile gaming world, it looks like we are set to welcome in a whole new family of mischievous aves in the form of a new Angry Birds Stella courtesy of Rovio.

Samsung’s Elusive Wraparound Display Smartphone Reportedly Releasing Later This Year

Ben Reid·February 13, 2014
As we keenly await the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5 later on this month, new reports out of the company's native Korea have implied that as well as the imminent flagship, Samsung plans on releasing a handset with a wraparound display later on this year. Although the TouchWiz maker likes to keep the flow of handsets constant throughout every year, only two - the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note - tend to stand out among the also-rans. However, the prospect of a first Samsung smartphone packing this unorthodox display would certainly grab the headlines, and if it is in line for a launch at some point in 2014, would likely upstage both of the current flagship ranges.

This Might Be Our First Look At iPhone 6 (Leaked Photos) [Update x1]

Ben Reid·February 13, 2014
We've heard from a number of sources that Apple is planning two larger iPhones for release in 2014 - one with a 4.7-inch display and another packing a decidedly-extensive 5.5-inch panel. But after seeing just how carried away folks got with the so-called iPhone 5 in the run-up to what eventually amounted to the iPhone 4s, it's always good to have some physical evidence - however vague - to corroborate the incessant claims. Shots of a new rear-shell leak, along with an alleged iPhone 6 prototype, have just leaked into the wild, and from the looks of it, the iPhone 6 will carry a similar design language which we’ve seen in the iPad Air.

Ben Reid·February 13, 2014
If you've ever wanted to change the keys on your iOS keyboard to a funky shade of blue, well, you're in luck, because a little tweak by the name of BlueBoard does exactly that.
