After initially launching in twelve countries on Friday, September 25, Apple has now announced that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus hardware will be sold in forty five additional countries starting Friday, October 9. Tim Cook, Apple's Chief Executive Officer, has described the demand for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as "phenomenal" as part of an official Apple press release that not only outlines the upcoming availability of the hardware in new territories, but also discusses the record breaking number of units sold in its opening weekend.

After initially stating publicly that it was was on course to beat last year's iPhone sales records after successfully launching iPhone 6s pre-orders, Apple has now provided more information. The Cupertino-based company has now announced that it has managed to shift more than 13 million iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus units in the first three days of public availability. That figure includes the number of devices purchased since the devices became available on Friday, as well as units that had been pre-ordered since September 12.
