With Android Wear establishing itself and Apple Watch en route to market, Pebble is in grave danger of being crowded out, and as such, a new model is on the horizon. A new teaser has been released, as well as a countdown, and we’ve got all of the relevant details below.

Apparently, Pebble has been looking to shore up both the software and hardware side of things, a move that will be very much required given the aforementioned matter of Apple Watch.

From a hardware perspective, the device will offer a larger display that will be in color, while the profile will also be thinner and sleeker than what we’ve seen from the start-up.

Despite offering a color display, it won’t offer a touch interface, and the lack of this support could severely hinder Pebble’s chances of remaining relevant. Because, while the smartwatch market is still establishing itself, most consumers are accustomed to displays that they can physically interact with, and even though we don’t know exactly what this new Pebble will be like, something tells us that it’s unlikely to sway users away from the other options available.

Still, away from the display and thin form factor, prospective Pebblers should also expect decent battery life. Apple is expected to offer an all-day battery life with its first wearable, and the next gen Pebble should maintain solid retention despite its svelte design.

With just over four days to go, we’ll surely here more about the device in the near future, and should any decent information come to light, we’ll have it covered right here.
