Microsoft’s New Office App Offers Word, Excel, And PowerPoint Under One Roof

Have you ever wished that Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint were all part of a single iPhone app? No, neither have we, but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from making it happen. The new Office app is now available for download after an initial beta offering.

The main benefit here is that you only need to have a single app to download and update, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some interesting features to enjoy. Microsoft has integrated Lens into the app, so you can use your iPhone’s camera to capture things and have the Office magic worked on them.

The Office app delivers several key benefits including:

– Combining Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a way that simplifies the experience with fewer apps to download or switch between. It requires far less phone storage than installing individual apps while maintaining virtually all the capabilities of the existing mobile apps people already know and use.

– Integrating our Lens technology to unlock the power of the camera with capabilities like converting images into editable Word and Excel documents, scanning PDFs, and capturing whiteboards with automatic digital enhancements to make the content easier to read.

– Adding new functionality for common tasks people often encounter when working on a phone—things like making quick notes, signing PDFs, scanning QR codes, and transferring files between devices.

You can download the new, free app from the App Store. There’s no iPad version as yet, but we’re told that it’s in the works. You’ll also need an Office 365 subscription if you plan on using all of the premium features, too.
