Leaker Says iPadOS 19 Will Make Your iPad More Mac-Like Than Ever

A new leak claims that the upcoming iPadOS 19 update will make iPads more similar to Macs than ever before, and the iPhone’s iOS 19 update will get in on the act as well.

According to a post by Maijin Bu, Apple’s new updates will bring a number of changes to the iPad and iPhone. Those changes start with a Mac-like Menu Bar coming to Apple’s tablet.

One of the most exciting changes will benefit those using the iPad with a Magic Keyboard. When connected, the interface will adapt to show a menu bar at the top, just like on macOS, turning the iPad into a much more laptop-like experience

The same report goes on to explain that there are big changes coming to Stage Manager, including the addition of “an enhanced multitasking mode that activates automatically when the keyboard is attached.” Bu goes on to say that “It will make managing apps and windows smoother and more productive than ever.”

Those who are more interested in iOS 19 will get new support for external displays via the iPhone’s USB-C port, with a new Stage Manager-like interface being offered.

While not a full desktop mode, it will allow users to extend their screen space, great for presentations, editing, or enhanced viewing.

Apple is yet to confirm iOS 19 or iPadOS 19, but we do know that it will hold its annual WWDC event in June. Traditionally, that’s when we see a preview of Apple’s upcoming software and early betas released to developers. Then, we expect Apple to release the new updates to the public in September alongside the iPhone 17 lineup.
