Leaker Claims iPhone 12 Pro Will Feature 6GB Of RAM For The First Time

Apple is roundly expected to launch the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro later this year, but you’ll need to buy the latter if you want to get your hands on an iPhone packing 6GB of RAM. That’s according to Twitter leaker @L0vetodream, anyway.

Rumors of a 6GB iPhone 12 Pro aren’t new, though. Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis has previously said the same thing with the iPhone 12 models coming with 4GB of RAM inside.

If you’re concerned about that, don’t be. It’s important to remember that Apple’s current iPhone 11 Pro – and the iPhone 11 for that matter – both ship with 4GB of RAM inside. We’ve yet to come across anyone that would suggest that those models are sluggish or slow and we don’t expect the iPhone 12 to be any different.

But that aside, those who like to peep specification sheets will definitely want to go with the top-tier iPhones this year. But why?

It’s likely that there will be a new feature that Apple needs the extra RAM for, possibly to handle a new photography function that won’t be part of the iPhone 12 lineup. Given the arrival of a LiDAR Scanner for the first time, that definitely makes sense.

RAM or not, Apple is expected to announce two iPhone 12 models and two iPhone 12 Pro models in September or October this year.
